My emotional breakdown

My steam cleaner doesn't work and dumps water out on the floor.  The store won't take it back and there is no authorized dealer within 100 miles.  All the local repair shops won't fix it unless I pay out of pocket because they say that Hoover never pays.  So I have a dog that is going crazy because of the previous family that lived here with dogs, an 8 day old steam cleaner that doesn't work, and no husband to help me fix the whole situation.

So overall, not a big deal, but then why am I sitting here crying over a stupid steam cleaner?

It's just been one of those days I guess.

I think we somehow packed and brought over to the new house a shelf from the old house.  Strange.  I guess I got pack happy.

We had meet the teacher tonight and orientation at the girls' new school.  Abs wore a polka dot dress and pink cowboy boots......she fit right in.  This school will be the best thing that happened to both girls.

After telling my mom about another load of "crap" going to the thrift store, she started to question me on specific items that she has given me in the past.  I have them all.  Would I tell her if I didn't?  Probably not.  I can't keep things anymore.  Anything.  If you want to see it again, then give it to someone else, but not me!  My little sister has the purging bug too.  Now if our mom could just catch it!

.....This morning I found a bunch of dog training treats on the floor.  Abs fed Sammy a one pound bag.  He's been making dry heaving sounds all day, so we haven't gone out to finish all the other errands that we need to do.

I heard from Gunner a few days ago....it was so nice to talk to him.  We've already had two trash days since he left.  50 more to go.....

How frustrating! I would call the store and hoover HQ and let them know that this is not acceptable and if that doesn't work let them know your next call will be to the BBB, that usually works. I had to file a BBB complaint against T-Mobile and I couldn't believe how quickly it got my issue fixed.

I like that - counting down the trash days. =)

Hope you can figure out the steam cleaner thing. It would happen while he's gone.

I know how you feel. Those first few days always seem like the worse. I'm sure you'll get into your grove soon enough!

Ugh! Steam cleaners are the worst. I've given up on them and just rent a rug doctor from the store, which I've had pretty good luck with (but they're freaking heavy). Sorry the blasted thing won't work for you.

Calling BBB about Hoover if they won't fix the problem is a great idea. Don't let it get you down. And I loved a phone book from Alabama to Texas so I completely understand how a shelf got moved!

I'm glad Abs school sounds like a good fit. She deserves a school she can be herself at and be happy.

(((HUGS)))
There's always something......that is completely unacceptable. I hope you get it figured out. It probably wouldn't hurt to mention to Hoover that you have a blog with a very large following that you have shared your story with!

I love that you're counting the trash days until Gunner is home. Brilliant! :)

Hey now, don't say that "it isn't a big deal" because when things start piling up it sure as hell feels like a big deal. I'm so sorry the steam cleaner isn't working, sounds like there is some good advice coming in. I hope it works out for you soon.

Tomorrow's a new day. Take a deep breath and try to relax.

Awww, ABW. I am sorry about the vacuum. I was thinking about it the other day. When the dog pees, pour club soda on it and have one of the girls stand on it with a thick towel, jumping up and down. Then pour vinegar on it and do the same. It will remove the pee stain and take away the odor that keeps drawing the dog back. Hope that helps. As far as Abs goes, good look.

First of all, BIG virtual hugs! Although, I have to say that if you DIDN'T have an emotional breakdown at this point in the deployment drama, I would have either asked you to share whatever drugs you were on at the moment or ask you what planet you came from... AND I would feel like the only one who does this. I wonder if this makes me a shallow person, to be glad the misery is shared or maybe makes you feel better because you are sharing the load and making it lighter with many other milspouse's?

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

One solution? Have you thought about paying someone to do your rugs? I know it's expensive but the peace of mind may be worth it?

What was that line from Star Wars - the one about speeding up the harvest? I sure wish I could speed things up for you.

I like the vinegar and club soda idea but I don't know how well it works. Have you gone to the pet store to see if there's a commercial product that will work?

Sammy should let up but it's a matter of time for him to settle in and replace the smell with his own. Not much comfort, I know...

Deep breath, girlfriend. You're a remarkable person and you will figure it out.

Hmmmm I want to know what store won't let you return a product that is less than 10 days old? Hang in there:-)

I have seen my best friend go through this enough times in the past few years that I desperately wish I was close enough to offer my help. Her husband is no longer in the army (and Private Ryan is on "a break" from it, too, right now), so I can't exactly say I know how you feel ... but I can say I feel for you.

Chin up, honey, it will be okay, and those trash days will pass much faster than expected. In the meantime, my family is praying for you and yours.

I had problems with a Hoover steam vac the 2nd time after I used it. It stopped sucking up water so my carpets were sopping wet. I found a very useful website and "Vacman" gave me a solution that worked! Perhaps you will find your answer there, or he can assist you. It didn't cost me a thing-apparently others had been having the same problem. Here is the link: http://www.cleanmachines.ca/vactips.htm

Hope this helps!
