Living on Post

There are so many things that I like about living on post, but there are tons of things that I cannot stand! I know beggars can't be choosers, but can't some people have common sense??? Today my neighbor came over to tell me that her son was bitten by a pit bull that got loose. Apparently the family has 6 dogs which are rottweilers and pittbulls. Paramedics were called and the little boy is okay, but why didn't anyone catch all these dogs in the backyard?? Aren't they supposed to be registered? I get a citation saying that we need to remove our third vehicle because it is inoperative and these people don't even get noticed??? (BTW, the third vehicle is operable and just isn't driven since we have two other ones that work just as well. I did end up giving the vehicle away to someone that could use it though so I wouldn't have to be bothered by our Housing NCOIC)

My other neighbor thinks that they own the street and there is an imaginary line in the street that if I cross they will pin in my car. When I was 8 months pregnant my mom came to visit and they pinned her car in because it protruded about a foot over on to "their side" of the street. My husband was deployed, I was pregnant, not in a good mood anyway, and this sent me over the edge!!! They actually refused to move their cars! I still get livid just thinking about it.

I can't wait to move somewhere new.....

Gym

I decided that I finally needed to lose the baby weight since Junior is about 9 months old. I have been hitting the gym hard almost every day and doing weight watchers. I've made it to 13 pounds so far. Not too much further to go till I am happy and can fit in my old clothes! Junior doesn't like to go to the gym daycare that much, so I try to just work out for an hour at a time when I have him unless the girls are there to help keep an eye on him. My goal is to be in shape by the time hubby comes home from recruiting school before we head out to our new location! We would love to go overseas, but I have heard that it is hard to get OCONUS the first go around. Blech. I want to hear how easy it is!!! Something is bound to go right for us one of these days!!!

Blogging

I started this blog, made some posts, and then deleted them all. It's not like anyone reads it anyway. Hubby was picked up for recruiting. I have mixed feelings on the subject, that's for sure! We will make it work though for the next three years, and at least it gets us out of Texas and into a new environment. I know there are tons of horror stories out there about recruiting, but we have had several friends that have done it, and while the hours are long, it got better after about the first year.

I still have a lot of questions and research to do though. Hubby leaves next month to go to school and then apparently at the end of school we will find out where we are going. I have already booked our vacation and have started lining up summer activities to keep us busy until the big move. I just hope the big move doesn't means we are still in this part of Texas!!!
