It takes a special person to do what you are doing. My husband has been a military man for 35 years of which we have been married 25 years. When I reflect over our life, the four unaccompanied tours, and the countless short deployments, it is the quality of love that my husband gave to me and our son which stands out, not the deployments.
We have survived four year long deployments--one to Bosnia and three to Iraq. We have been married for almost 17 years and have three children--Em, Abs, and Junior. Gunner is currently deployed for the 5th time to Afghanistan. We are fast approaching the year mark, and then we will focus on the prize--retirement!
