Regrouping

I ordered more presents, but have yet to wrap one.  I did have a friend that offered to come over and wrap with me, while we drink wine.  That I might be able to handle!

I hired an advocate so I can work towards getting an IEP for my Abs.

Junior wore underwear to hourly care this morning and stayed dry.  (Cross your fingers and everything else that you can!)

I started addressing Christmas cards.

The house is clean.

I did my crossfit today.

It's 66 degrees and I am in a tshirt and sandals.  Heaven.

I have a Christmas party to go to tonight, and while I have no desire to go, I am trying to talk myself into it.

I'll overlook that there are piles of laundry in the hallway upstairs, that I pulled the front of a drawer off of the shrunk, and that the girls start Christmas break this friday until January 5th.  (Seems awfully long to me!)

We have snow possibly coming in a few days, my mom might visit after Christmas, and while the school wants to argue with me over the law, our new advocate helped write the law and is ready to go to bat for Abs.

I've decided that my outlook always changes on Monday because I put Junior in hourly and have my workout and some time to myself.  I'm never productive, but that's okay, every once in a while we need to regroup.

Having that solo time is a lifesaver, I am sure. If for nothing else, at least for your sanity!

Glad you have someone fighting on your behalf...fingers crossed that it works!

Breaks really can help. You can think & plan much easier too.

You sound a little better. I wish I could be there to help you wrap presents. I don't think the school would say that's a good enough emergency. Then again, me bringing my crew into the mix wouldn't make things much better.

I hope you have a good time at the party tonight.

It sounds like you've got a game plan going!

I'm amazed at all you seem to deal with. I've only dealt with one deployment myself (soon to be two) but I understand that you hit that wall where you just want to do absolutely nothing. Keep your head up, it'll get better! And wine and presents with a friend sounds great...you should add cookies and then it'll really be a party!

Definitely sounds like some positivity (is that a word?)!

I wonder...how does one become an advocate? It is something I am interested in. Do you happen to know?

Time to yourself is very important! Good luck with Abs and the Advocate.

I've poked around your blog for a little bit now. Not sure I've ever commented or been anything but a creeper :) I was wondering, however.. I've tried going back some, even reading through your posts with tags in reference to Abs and I haven't really been able to put my finger on it. I know in previous posts, you've mentioned issues with overstimulation, etc. Could you elaborate more on her? Is it a case of A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. or am I way off base?

Just curious! :)

We're not even in deployment yet & neither of us are in the Christmas mood. I was feeling guilty about not decorating, and trying to figure out a way to get out of even doing a tree without breaking the prima donna & diva's hearts when my sister-in-law saved us with surprize tickets to see the family over Christmas before GI Joe deploys. MIL always has the decorations up, now we can just focus on hanging out together.
