We still have a few months to go, but since the last few months always seem to go the slowest for me, I have been busy scheduling things for us to do.
This weekend we have:
Then Em is headed off to a weekend in the mountains where she will enjoy snowshoeing, tubing, crafts, sleigh ride, sports, skiing and more. It's a free weekend for teens of deployed Soldiers/Airman, etc. She's really excited about it. I'm jealous!
There's a Girl Scout mall lock-in coming up, and then I'll take the little kids to see:
How do you help pass the time the last few months before they come home?
We also tried to stay busy with fun trips and projects. One of the best things we got to do was spend a day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in CA. We were staying with my parents and were only a few hours away, so we made a big deal about going. My mom planned sewing, craft, and gardening projects for my kids that they loved!
Em's trip sounds like fun! I have a relative that's ab's age that lives here, I wonder if they are in the same girl scout trip. Wouldn't that be funny!
We have survived four year long deployments--one to Bosnia and three to Iraq. We have been married for almost 17 years and have three children--Em, Abs, and Junior. Gunner is currently deployed for the 5th time to Afghanistan. We are fast approaching the year mark, and then we will focus on the prize--retirement!
